How Vibe Score Works

Accept / Modify / Reject

How often you accept AI suggestions verbatim vs modifying or rejecting them. Higher modification ratio = higher score.

Critical Catches

How many critical vulnerabilities you caught and addressed before they shipped. Each one boosts your score.

Security Streak

Consecutive days without introducing critical issues. Like Duolingo for code security. Break the streak, rebuild it.

Review Depth

How thoroughly you examine AI suggestions before accepting. Time spent, lines reviewed, patterns checked.

For Individual Developers

Your personal Vibe Score is your security reputation. Track streaks, earn badges and prove to yourself (and your team) that you're reviewing AI output responsibly.

What is Vibe Coding?

Vibe coding is the practice of rapidly accepting AI‑generated code suggestions without thorough review-trusting the "vibe" that the code looks right rather than verifying it. The term was coined by Andrej Karpathy in February 2025 and was named Collins Dictionary Word of the Year 2025.

While vibe coding dramatically accelerates development, it introduces significant security risks. When developers accept AI suggestions at high speed, SQL injections, hardcoded secrets, disabled TLS verification and authentication bypasses slip through unchecked.

CodeMarine's Vibe Score quantifies this behavior. Instead of banning AI tools (which developers will route around), it measures how responsibly developers interact with AI suggestions and provides guardrails that catch risks in real time.
